H9Y Player Etiquette
H9Y Venue Rules
- H9Y is an open seating venue. Tables are first come first serve. Prior reservations may be placed prior to attending to ensure seating.
- Speak to other players/customers with respect.
- If an altercation between players/customers occurs, regardless of who starts it, engaging in any threatening forms of physical or verbal behavior, and bullying of other players or staff will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave H9Y and possibly banned.
- If you have a disagreement or issue with another player or customer, please find a staff member to resolve.
- During a H9Y organized tournament, league, etc, any attempt to cheat, manipulate the standings, outcome, stats, or points of a game will result in immediate removal from H9Y.
- Any disrespect towards staff members will not be tolerated.
- You may use your own bags, except corn filled bags. Must be plastic filled.
- Purses, Backpacks and any and all items are subject to search.
- Do not damage H9Y property. You will be responsible for damages.
- You are responsible for your own equipment. H9Y is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
- No weapons allowed inside the building.
- No illegal drugs allowed or used on premises under any circumstances.
- H9Y is a pet-free venue. This includes dogs, pets, therapy and emotional support or comfort animals. The only exception is for service animals aiding a Guest with a disability.
- No smoking inside the venue.
- No outside food or alcohol allowed inside the venue.
- No loitering.
- No selling or soliciting on-site unless given consent from authorized H9Y personnel.
- Alcohol purchased at H9Y can not leave the venue, including drinking on the patio.
- All children under 21 must be accompanied by a guardian.
- No one under 21 years of age may order, consume or carry alcohol inside the venue.
- While we welcome children and families, please note that no special efforts have been made to “childproof” this property, and customers accept the risk or harm to any children on the property.
- All children must be supervised by a legal guardian. Children can not be left unattended in the venue or outside of the venue.
- Please follow basic dress code policies that do not violate Arizona State Law, including:
- Indecent exposure, public lewdness, public indecency, or disorderly conduct.
- Filming/photography
- Permission required for any filming or photography intended for commercial use, including journalism.
- Filming or photography of other guests or staff members requires their express permission
- We reserve the right to revoke permission for the use of photographic or video equipment at any time for any reason.
- Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form of discrimination.
Tournament/League Etiquette
- Show up early. To help ensure tournaments/league start on time this helps staff get tournaments organized and set up prior to the start time. Preferably up to 15 min early if pre-registered and 30 min early if not registered.
- Pre-register whenever possible. This is greatly appreciated by the staff to expedite starting a tournament.
- During a H9Y organized event, any attempt to cheat, manipulate the standings, outcome, stats, or points of a game will result in immediate removal from H9Y.
- Understand the rules of the tournament prior to registration.
- In tournaments with random pairings, treat players of all skill levels with respect.
- Do not ask any staff members to change the rules to a tournament during an event. If you would like to see a different structure, ask before the start of the event or make a suggestion for a future event.
- Cornhole is self-refereed. Understand the rules of the game prior to starting. H9Y follows ACL rules during sanctioned and no sanctioned tournaments, unless discussed prior to start.
- Be mindful of talking, walking, and distracting players during game play.
- If smoking, please be mindful of court assignments while outside the building.
- Boards designated for tournaments are available for warm-up, gameplay, etc. All additional lanes, please see the front desk for availability.
